Product Support Sales Supervisor

Objectives & Accountabilities

The Product Support Sales Supervisor is responsible for generating and growing parts, service and technology sales revenues through effective planning and organizing of department employees and their assignments within the responsible section and the assigned CI and E&T territories.

The Product Support Sales Supervisor leads the Product Support section within the Aftermarket Sales Department, which includes the following positions:

  • Parts & Service Sales Representatives (PSSR)
  • Inside Sales Representatives (ISR)
  • Service Coordinator (SC)
  • The Equipment Management Solutions (EMS) team:
    • CVA Coordinator
    • Condition Monitoring Analyst (CMA)

In addition, the Product Support Sales Supervisor is authorized to approve or reject the following:

  • Vehicle utilization within the department section
  • Leave requests within the department section
  • Office supply requests within the department section
  • Aftermarket quotes; sys and standard repair options

The following are the major tasks that are expected of the Product Support Sales Supervisor:

  • Maximize ROI on Parts & Service Sales Representatives’ assignments;
  • Maximize ROI on Inside Sales Representatives’ assignments;
  • Perform coverage studies (bi-annually);
  • Maintain and grow market share and associated revenue streams;
  • Develop sales strategies and associated business cases;
  • Assist in development of the department ABP & corresponding budget (annually);
  • Grow customers’ acceptation and adoption of digital and hands-on support offerings;
  • Manage the team based on operational excellence program metrics requirements;
  • Manage the team based on leadership table initiative metrics requirements;
  • Develop department SOP’s in accordance with HSEQ standards (when required);
  • Create management reports (monthly).


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a leading/supervisory role;
  • Experience in a sales and customer service is preferred;
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter;
  • Ability to set and meet goals;
  • Good comprehension of the languages Dutch and English (verbal and written);
  • Experienced in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with Power BI, Microsoft Tableau, ERP system, CRM Platform and Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS);
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar’s Aftermarket Sales principles;
  • Knowledge of economics as required;
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles as required.

Reporting structure

The Product Support Sales Supervisor reports to the Commercial Manager Retail.

Work Schedule

  • 45 hours in a week, from Monday to Friday.
  • The work location is located at Paramaribo and the working hours are from 7.00 – 16.00.
  • Expected to be available outside of standard office hours whenever called upon by department team members, customers and company managers if deemed urgent and necessary.
